Alternate history comic set in 16th century Mesoamerica. The story centers on twins brothers as they try to survive a changing world caught between two Mesoamerican superpowers at war. Zotz means bat in many Mayan languages and this deity plays a crucial role in the story.
In this third book, twin brothers, Pakal and Kaan join forces with a war torn village.
Two Maya twin brothers, Pakal and Kaan, live with their father, an ex general, Nachan, who now lives a life of peace in a small village by the Chuchumatan mountains. Bandits descend on their village to assassinate Nachan, destroying the whole place and massacring nearly everyone in the process. Shocked and outraged, the boys go out to seek revenge. They get their vengeance, but this still leaves a bitter taste in their mouths. The boys are later recruited into the military to fight for the Tlacao Kingdom (A new state born from the old Triple Alliance) locked in a war with the Teotl Empire (An empire forged in the unification of the Maya kingdoms of Guatemala). The twins survive their first battle, and are preparing for the next one, in Chiapas. But first, a flashback to the wars with the Conquistadors…
